The Upper Hall contains exhibition devoted entirely
to the diversity of birds and mammals. Nearly all specimens shown in the
displays are stuffed skins mastered by best Russian taxidermists who have
been working in or for the Museum since the end of XIX century up the
recent days. Most of the exhibits are individual specimens as such, and
they are arranged systematically. But few of them are gathered in smaller
or larger biogroups showing animals in their environments, such as the
"Bird's Market". Besides, of interest is special display about hunting
with the birds of prey. Section of birds and mammals each is forworded
by an introductory display, and each order is supplied with textual characteristics.
