Participation of the Zoological Museum in education includes both the courses of the Moscow University and non-University activities.
Students of Moscow University (faculties of Biology, Geography, Soil, Psychology) regularly visit the Museum exhibitions to learn about diversity and adaptations of particular groups of organisms. Besides, the Museum employees gives lectures to the students, and supervise some of their research and field works.

However, the most numerous visitors to the Museum are schoolchildren from Moscow and adjacent towns.

The Museum uses also other means of education, not only its exhibitors. A serial of popular books "Diversity of Animals" is being issued, and some members of the Museum staff participate occasionally in the natural history TV programs.

Besides, the Circle of Young Naturalists has been acting for many years under the auspices of the Museum.
