Nikolay Mikhailovich Kulagin
(1860–1940)

Born in Smolensk Government. Graduated from Moscow University, in late 1880s curated herpetological collection in the Museum. Acknowledged entomologist, anatomist, embryologist, physiologist, evolutionist. Corresponding member of Russian Acad. Sci. (1913), acting member of Belorussian Acad. Sci. (1934) and Academy of Agricultural Sci. (1935). Professor of the Moscow University, Timiryasev Academy, dean of Natural History Department of the Shanyavski University (1912-1922) in Moscow.
