Museum was established in 1932 under the name Department of Phylogeny.
Unlike other divisions of the Museum, its specialty is determined
not by particular animal group(s) but by particular forms of preparation.
Its main purpose is to gather and keep anatomical preparations of
vertebrate animals: skeletons, total preparations and micropreparations.
The office and collection rooms (¹ 42) of
the Sector are situated on the ground floor of the left wing of
the Museum building (along Nikitsky Per.). The office phone is 629-39-43.
