COMMON NAMES: Noctules
SYNONYMS: Pterygistes Kaup, 1829; Vesperugo Keyserling, Blasius, 1839 part.; Noctulinia Gray, 1842; Panugo Kolenati, 1856.
DIMENSIONS: Body mass 12-76 g, head & body 50-110 mm, tail 35-70 mm, forearm 40-70 mm, wing span 28-50 cm.
DESCRIPTION:
DISTRIBUTION: From temperate zone of Eurasia south to Northern Africa and Indochina.
NATURAL HISTORY:

Four species occur in Russia and neighbouring countries:
Common noctule - N. noctula
Giant noctule - N. lasiopterus
Eastern noctule - N. aviator
Leisler's bat - N. leisleri
