    She is the head and curator of the entire collection of the Sector, Doctor of Biological Sciences, leading researcher. Honorary member of the International Loach Association (Germany), member of the Commission on the Red Data Book of the Russian Federation (Pisces), member of a number of international ichthyological societies (WSCS, EIS), and in editorial boards of international journals. Conducted field research in various regions of Russia and other countries: Kola Peninsula, Kamchatka, Moscow and Rostov regions, North Ossetia, Stavropol Krai, Far East, Ukraine, Karakalpakstan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran.

    She conducts research on the taxonomy and variability of freshwater and marine fish of Russia and neighboring countries (families Cobitidae, Gobiidae, Cyprinidae, Acipenseridae, some families of perciform fish, etc.), on inheritance and variability of morphological traits in the natural and induced same-sex reproduction in fish, on morphological divergence of the closely related diploid and polyploid species, and on the origin of polyploid taxa (Cobitidae, Acipenseridae).

    Technical curation of the collection is also conducted by volunteers, who are responsible for the refilling of materials, assistance in inventory and placement of new specimens, and rearrangement of materials in storage rooms. Currently, Ivan Vladimirovich Karandashov, a student at the Medical Institute, is actively working in the Sector.
