- Sergey Vadimovich Kruskop
Head of the Sector, leading researcher, PhD, curator of collections of bats, insectivores, and various "exotic" groups (marsupials, primates, etc.).
Area of professional interests includes biology and systematics of bats (Chiroptera); popularization of scientific knowledge in zoology. Member of the All-Russian Theriological Society of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the Russian Working Group on Bats, manager of the official website of the latter Group, member of Advisory Panel on European Bat List, member of the editorial board of the journal "Plecotus et al." published by the Commission on Bats, and the journals "Acta Chiropterologica" and "Diversity".
Participated in research trips and expeditions to various regions of Russia (European part, Baikal, Transbaikalia, Far East, Caucasus), Crimea, Belarus, as well to Ethiopia, Nepal, Thailand; has been conducting research in Vietnam for many years, where he made about 20 trips.

The main research interests are rodent taxonomy, principles and methods of phylogenetic systematics, morphometry, history of zoology; popularization of scientific knowledge in zoology.

Researcher, curator of the rodent collection.
Member of the All-Russian Theriological Society of the Russian Academy of Sciences. A recognized specialist in the analyses of molecular genetic data. Research interests are in taxonomy and phylogenetics of small rodents (primarily Cricetinae, Dipodidae) and insectivores. Participant of many expeditions to Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and China.

- Olga Gennadievna Nanova
Researcher, curator of carnivorous collection, PhD.
The main research interests are in morphological variability and evolutionary morphology of mammals. Applies morphometric methods (including geometric morphometrics) and computer modeling (finite element analysis). Research interests also include phylogeography of mammals (Carnivora and Rodentia).

Natalia Nikolaevna Spasskaya
Secretary for Research of the Zoological Museum, curator of collection of ungulates, PhD.
Main research interests are in the social nehavior, ecology, and morphology of the horse. Member of the All-Russian Theriological Society of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Participated in expeditions to the steppe regions of Eurasia (European part, the Urals, Western and Southern Siberia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia), studied the native horse breeds in the Arkhangelsk Region, Bashkiria, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Yakutia, Mongolia. Head of the Przhevalsky Horse Restoration Program in the Orenburg Region.
